I say that's bullshit. If they were simply doing it for fun, or for the challenge, then they would break the copy protection, post about it, then destroy the fruits of their labour, without distributing it for the world to exploit.

Decent people don't try to hurt the livelihoods of others just for a challenge or fun. A bit naive i think, nobody's talking about decent people, you are putting yourself in their place and they obviously aren't as moral as you are so would not think alike theres no other reason they would do it.i mean honestly.why else? For the sake of 13 year olds around the world??? I'm sure some do it as a form of rebellion.

For some it's probably about the kudos - the more people using their cracks, the better they feel about themselves. Maybe some of them labour under the delusions that they are the Robin Hood of the software world, robbing from the rich software companies and giving to the poor people. Maybe they're not as 'moral' as me, but I consider myself to be an average decent person. I don't steal. I also don't help others to steal which is what crackers do. (Cue the debate about whether or not it's stealing if the person using the crack 'was never going to pay for the software in the first place).
